Forced Rest & Taper

On 19 December at 10:00 in the morning I will start the 48 Hour Circuit Race at the Johannesburg Festival of Running. Last night I made sure that I will get proper rest and taper.

I kicked a brick while playing with the dogs and broke the middle toe on my right foot. I am not pleased with myself...

Happy training...or resting...or tapering!

I've been there...stubbing toe on coffee table usually! Hopefully it heals up quickly for you and doesn't hamper your 48 hour race...ouch...that hurts.

Saw your comment on my blog this morning. This is terrible. I am so sorry, what an unfortunate accident. I hope it heals quickly and you are still ready to go! You are tough you'll be fine :)

Oh dear, Johann. Well, no worries, it will heal up quickly (trust me, I did the exact same thing a couple weeks ago) and you'll be able to take some down-time and be race ready in two weeks!!! It's all good, my friend :).

Maybe it'll be like a black toenail and fall off... (hope not) :)

Oh no!!!
I have done this before too, but kicked a couch. How long should it take to heal? I hope you are able to run again in time for your event!

Oh no! That looks really painful - I hope it's better by the 19th. Fingers crossed!

Ouch I hope you heal really fast. I badly injured a toe the night before an important triathlon. I stopped what I was doing and immediately put ice on it. Good luck.
