Weather Question

Is it just me or do we have only two seasons nowadays? Summer and winter. I've been noticing this for the last two or three years now.

It is mid September and should be mid spring here in SA, but we are having warm summer days with 30°C (86F) temperatures. To me that is a lot warmer than spring and I wonder what our summer temperatures will be like.

Two weeks ago we were freezing and walking with thick long sleeve tops. Now it is time to sweat. We moved directly from winter to summer.

Do you find the same where you live or do you still have 4 seasons?

Global warming... I think so...

I said exactly the same thing to our nanny this morning (before I read your post) - we literally went from freezing to 30+ degrees in a week's time. So weird, but I'm not complaining - enjoying summer! :)

This is the central tenet of climate change, that moving forward, the extremes will dominate and milder weather will disappear. It might become unlivable in some areas. Kind of scary but hopefully won't happen anytime soon. :)

Totally agree....feels like we never really did hit summer up here that's for sure. Now it's fall and it's not even fall yet! Grrr

Somehow this year we went straight from summer to winter. I hate it! I love summer and need fall to gently ease me out of warm weather!

We get spring if we're lucky. Sometimes a whole week of it.

Yes--I feel like it was 90 a week ago and 60-something today. There is no doubt that in my lifetime, I've seen the weather change--thank you global warming!

Our seasons also seem all messed up. Global warming?

Completely agree with you about the relationship between global warming and the rise of greenhouse gas emissions trends.

On the other hand, there are obviously approximate and uncertain estiamates about the overall evolution of global warming since the beginning of the industrial revolution in the eighteenth century.
