ENER-B... Energy from the bees!

I love honey. I always have. I remember my dad bringing home 7kg containers filled with honey many many years ago. It was always one of my favorite spreads on bread. In 1973, our under 10 rugby team was fueled with honey. Before every game we each had to eat a spoonful of honey.

1973 Primary school rugby team - League and District winners - Fueled with honey :)

I am the no 2 just visible at the teacher on the other side giving us our honey before the game.

Honey on toast is my favorite pre-race meal and having honey during a race is a bonus! So I was naturally very pleased when I received my box with 25 sachets of honey from Ener-B. Thank you to Karien from Running The Race that gave me the order details.

Ener-B is a local product and the sachets contain 100% raw honey. Bliss to a honey lover like me! I get nauseous from most of the energy gels available, but honey sits well with me. I can really energy up with Ener-B.

I love the sachets too. I've only seen it used by one other product, 32Gi. The sachets can literally be opened with one hand. Just fold and squeeze. No sticky mess!

Happy running everyone!

I love me some honey, so this sounds wonderful! It's so much gentler on the stomach that a lot of the gels. One of my favorite pre-run snacks in peanut butter and honey on toast :)

I use an almost identical product called Honey Shotz. I started getting gastric issues from the standard Gus with all their artificial ingredients. Haven't had any problems since changing. The only downside to them is that it takes four Honey Shotz to give the same energy as a single Gu so you have to carry a lot more around with you. But I'd rather do that than have to find a bush for an emergency toilet.

This looks so convenient! And raw honey is also really good for your immune system - when my kids were little we did the spoonful of honey in the mornings during the winter months, too!

I'm a big fan of honey, but I usually only use it in tea for some reason.
