I am always amazed at how much water this stream has even when it is incredibly dry as it is now.
I've never seen less water here than this.
I chose to run the route around the outer rim of the reserve. Not many people venture this far out and I always enjoy it when I see only animal tracks out there and no human footprints.
No sign of humans...yay!
It was quite a hard run as it is getting warmer and warmer each week. I am still used to winter running and one of my goals over weekends is to get used to warmer temperatures.
Trail along the southern fence.
It is bone dry at the moment. Look at all the Springbok droppings...
Testing downhill for tired legs.
Beautiful trail to finish my run with.
Another awesome run on the trails. I did 14km and it was all good. I can't see myself trading this for a park run soon...
Happy training everyone!

A beautiful workout in a wonderful place. In my future I only see Parkrun or similar races (too many injures) and relaxing runs in the country around my city.
Looks fantastic. Nice work and thanks for sharing the pics.
Just lovely, even though it's dry. I never did manage to get used to warm weather running, so I'm really glad our temps are cooling off!
I always love the pictures of yoru runs. Very peaceful :)
Wow, that really looks like the middle of nowhere. Do you run into other runners/hikers when you're out there?
Looks great. It is still odd to me to read about you starting summer as we head towards winter!
So beautiful! You have amazing places to run, Johann!
I'm sure that it was just a couple of months ago that your race pictures were full of green. How quickly things dry out over there.
I registered for park run, but went wine tasting instead, so don't know when I will ever run one...
This weekend I have to get out on my mountain as I've missed her while away on holiday!
No pictures of animals today?
Lovely!
Be warned that parkrun is VERY addictive...! The one in Bloem is in a nature reserve on gravel roads with plenty of game sightings en route... Pretty close to your trail run? ;)
So pretty! You need to get out to Colorado SOON and enjoy our trails here...you'd be surprised how different they are (yet the same :)). Glad you're feeling good!
