There's a puncture in my shoe!

I like trees. In fact I love trees. That's why I have some beautiful trees in my garden and enjoy being outside under the trees. I specifically love thorn trees and the Acacia family probably includes all my favorite trees. One of these is the "Acacia sieberiana" or "Papierbasdoring" or "Paperbark Thorn". I planted one of these trees in my garden in February 2007.

February 2007

It has grown quite a bit since then...

August 2013

It has some beautiful thorns now...

I stepped on a branch like the one above this morning with my Nike running shoes and heard a pop and a hiss...! My shoe got punctured! The Nike Air was deflated! The heel does not have support anymore and collapses when I step on it. Shoe retired!

The red arrow points to the puncture :)

I still love my thorn tree!

Have a great weekend everyone!

I've heard of deflating a bike tire, but never a shoe!

Oh yes, you have to love again your tree!
I have also a garden with many beautiful trees, in spring is a festival of colors.

That's too funny! Perhaps work boots with steel shanks might be a safer alternative for you? :)

Bahaha, I love this. RIP Nike shoe!

I guess Nike doesn't like when they said their souls are filled with air, eh? :) Yeah, I'd keep the tree over the shoes everyday...but next time, wear some non-air filled trail shoes in the backyard! :)

Ow! Reminds me of a hike we did in the desert once where my husband ended up with a cactus thorn in his shoe!

Oops. It's kind of funny - I've never heard of a deflated shoe before.

With regards to thorns, I have heard of deflated balls or bike tire but not of running shoes. Glad you don't forget the importance of trees.

I found this kind of funny. Who would ever guess? Can you patch your shoe like a tire?

Wow! I never would have thought. (Those are some nice thorns though)

had no idea you could deflate a shoe (duly noted). Those are long suckers.

What is it about thorns that you like? I prefer not to get scratched or punctured.... but that is just me ;-)

Once I went to a camp and at that time a thorn just steeped into my walktall shoes and after that I just stopped loving thorns :D but it's cool that you still love your thorn
