Sick...getting a little worried...

I've been down with flu and although I'm back at work I am still feeling sick. Running is not possible yet and I'm getting a little worried about my next race.

The Otter Challenge is now only 27 days away and I was not able to do my long run this past weekend. I hope to start running again on Thursday and then do a semi long run on Saturday. The Otter Challenge is a 42km coastal run and looking at the photos from the race below you will understand why I'm starting to worry a bit.

Certainly a great challenge to look forward to but this flu better leave my body soon.

Happy training everyone!

I hope you're recovered quickly. As consistent as your training is, I imagine you're in pretty good shape for the race even if you have to spend a while off your feet. Get well soon! :)

Holy cow that looks like some race. Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Hopefully nothing serious and passes quickly, allowing you to get back at it...

Feel better soon, Johann! I'd guess you'll be ok for the race, however, b/c you have a spectacular base from which to work.

I hope you're feeling a lot better soon. Flu can be so debilitating.

Personally Johann I would see how it develops over the next few days and take the next training run easy, then make a decision. You are an incredibly fit person and this sickness is just another trial us long distance runners have to take in our stride.

Holy smokes that race looks totally insane! I hope you are feeling back to normal soon. The flu can be hard to bounce back from!

Bring your swim fins, just in case!

Hope you're feeling better soon. Your fitness is there, just get the rest - that is most important now!!

That's one crazy looking race. I would want to be fully recovered for it. I think you have a great base, so trust it.
