Golden Gate Challenge Short Version Report

Hi everyone! I survived the 3 day Golden Gate Challenge and had the most amazing race! Absolutely awesome experience!

There is so much to tell I will do a report for each day as I get and have time. For now I give you a short and quick glimpse at it all. I finished and felt great every day.

Quick summary for now:

Story of day 1: wet, wet, wet with water and mud everywhere.

Dozens of crossings like this!

With water comes mud...

Hard work rewarded with unbelievable views!

Story of day 2:

Monster mountains to climb.

More climbing!

Spectacular views at the top!

Story of day 3:

4AM start today!

Climbed to the highest point...

...to run on top of the world!

Got the trophy and very proud of myself!

Full reports of each day to follow.

Have a super week everyone!

Wow, so beautiful! Congrats! That looks like an insane challenge. One day, just one day I want to do at least on race like this - well maybe not a 3 day one, but just one that is hard work, but so worth it! You inspire!!

The first picture, which shows those runners while they were crossing the water, is really fantastic.
I look forward to reading your race report.

Johann - when people say to me "Wow Jim you run a lot" or "Man Jim, you're a good runner" I just laugh to myself and think about guys like you who are REAL RUNNERS!!! You are a friggin' MAN and I am not anywhere near your class. I love reading your reports and finding out what extreme race you've done next ... it never fails to amaze me! Great job my friend as always. You are one of my running heroes!

You're so fortunate to have such beautiful courses!!! I find that breath taking races seem sooooo much easier than boring ones..... Even if they are more technical!
