I entered a cycle race!

What? True story... I entered a cycle race!

The 94.7 cycle challenge is much like the Comrades marathon... You have to do it at least once... If you cycle...

Anette has done it before and she's been keen to get me to do it with her. Since I'm cycling and still not able to run I figured this is a good time to get this done.

So Anette and I are both entered for this year's 94.7 cycle challenge. Better get some training done!

Happy training everyone!

I give up!

I must have jinxed myself with my previous post after my test run last week. The next morning I was at the doctor with a different issue.

In November 2013 I dropped a piece of glass into my foot that gave me quite a bad cut. It healed just fine and all was well, but last weekend the scar started swelling a bit and by Monday evening I could see it was infected.

November 2013

Tuesday morning I could hardly walk it was so painful and a trip to the doctor was the only option. After some very painful digging the doctor actually found a tiny piece of bone in my foot. It seems that the piece of glass chipped this off when it fell and it finally worked itself out of my foot now.

I was amazed at how painful this has been. I can't wear normal shoes yet and obviously no training was possible for the past week.

18 Months after the initial cut I am back to this...

It should be all sorted by the end of the week. Leg, back then foot... I hope that is that!

Have a super week everyone!

I Ran!

I was allowed to do a test run this morning to see how the leg injury is doing. It was a very slow shuffle, but I ran!

My leg felt good with zero pain, but my back was a bit stiff and sore. I think my leg is almost healed but my back is not great yet.

I will cycle the rest of the week and if all is still good do the same run again next Monday. If good I will do two runs next week and take it from there. Progress!

Have a super week everyone!
