I’m a coffee drinker and I don’t drink tea at all. I’ve
noticed that most of my running friends here in South Africa also drink coffee
rather than tea. There are actually a few of them that are the same as me…no
tea, only coffee.
I’ve been wondering if this is common among
runners. Do most runners prefer coffee above tea? I suppose it might be
different from country to country as well. The UK runners probably drink more
tea than the US runners.
What do you think about this?
Coffee or tea for you?
For me…coffee please!

I like both, but have a daily cup of coffee. I think we have a pretty big coffee culture here in the States these days, runner or non-runner. As to why runners specifically like it, well, it does enhance performance if you can tolerate it before racing (I can't).
Coffee. All the way. I like tea and will drink it sometimes, but my true love is coffee. It's like a hug in a cup!
Most days I have 3 or more mugs of tea but just one coffee. However, that coffee is ESSENTIAL! I like to have an enormous latte mid-morning and if I don't get one I get very stressed!
So they are both important to me I suppose.
I'm a huge coffee drinker. Tea - once or twice a year.
I drink both but mostly coffee. I only started drinking it 4 years ago believe it or not. Now I'm hooked.
I'm a huge soda drinker, though I'm currently on day ten without it and planning to stay that way. I only like coffee if it's about 1/3 hot chocolate, and I drink tea a couple times a week but don't love it. Lots of water for this girl.
I drink both but coffee is almost a religion to me. I can't drink much because I get heart palpitations if I have too much caffeine, but I have to have at least one good coffee a day to make my life worth living. And it seems I'm not alone. When I did a relay a few years back, the most hunted for item was a good coffee.
Hot chocolate for me, haven't had tea or coffee since Oct '84!!!
I don't drink coffee at all - I gave it a go in primary school, but just never liked the taste :-p. I'll drink Rooibos tea on occasion, but also not very regularly. I guess water is just my thing??
Both! I love coffee but limit to 2 cups a day, otherwise I can't sleep. I also have a cup of green tea pretty much every day with breakfast, and then other various teas throughout the day - herbal, rooibos...
Coffee first thing in the morning and tea, if I have it, the rest of the day.
Neither until recently, but in the past couple of months I've taken to coffee.
I never drank coffee until I started running. Now it's caffeine city!!
I'm a coffee girl, every single day! Although when I'm sick, I'm all about the Earl Grey : )
