Throwback Thursday and some more...
This post was inspired by Christina (rugby) and misszippy (barefoot). Here I am, second from the left at the front, in my under 10 rugby team, 1973. Barefoot of course. I grew up barefoot and my son goes to school barefoot as well.
and some more...
This is what we have at work tomorrow...Barefoot Friday!!!
What a cool job thing to do! And to raise money too. I love the fact that your kid goes to school sans shoes, not something we ever see around here. For me I am barefoot all the time at home, but at work in the steel shop, not such a good idea!
No one would want to see my bare feet, and I'm thankful that these kids are wearing their shoes to school. My 16 year old, in fact, could clear a room with his feet! Of course, that's typically after practice, so I guess it wouldn't be as bad at school...
I can't believe that your son's ALLOWED to go to school barefoot. My boys had to wear shoes and hats and the appropriate school uniform or they would have been in big trouble.
Hi! Im so behind on reading blogs! LOVE the picture! It's so different to see kids playing Rugby. I didn't even know what Rugby was until college when Ryan played!
That is so interesting! I never knew there were schools where all the kids go barefoot. Is there a reason behind it? I notice the teachers did have shoes on, though... Cute picture! And enjoy the freedom for your feet on Friday!
I love going barefoot, but cannot bring myself to run barefoot. South Florida is too hot, and there is simply too many nails and glass shards in the streets of this area.
Sounds like a good way to build foot strength - barefoot rugby - wow!! Any photos of the foot decorating or did you pass on that? :-) Have a fantastic weekend of running Johann!
I think it is good to see that there are some children who still know the freedom of going barefoot to school. I just wish people would not rush to judge the idea.

I work from home so I get to be barefoot every day!
Why do schoolboys go barefoot?
Nice pic! I'd think Rugby barefooted would hurt like hell!!! I miss watching Rugby :(
Wow, all this barefootedness - so crazy!
I love this picture.
So awesome! I'm sure the boys love it! :)
And my husband just went to the world 7's tourny (as a spectator...) - congrats to S. Africa!!!
Great photo! It's snowing here today, (2nd time this winter) so barefoot will only happen inside around these parts =D
Going to school barefoot - I love that!

Your son goes to school barefoot? I'm jealous!
Love it. I go barefoot in the house all the time. Wish I could go barefoot to work.

I would be scared to go barefoot at my work - do you know where high school feet were washed last? Me either!
Great picture!! I love being barefoot, the first thing I do when I get home from work is take my shoes off. I'd love to have a barefoot day at work!!

How cool is that? I would have loved going to school barefoot as a kid. I might even love going to work barefoot too :)

Adorable picture! (Unfortunately i can't do barefoot, due to feet problems). But I recall years and years of barefoot.
Funny, I was just asking my husband about Rugby today, because I have a new student who has a full ride collage scholarship for rugby.
Again, love the picture.

I love the idea...and I think it is brilliant! Trying to find shoes every morning is tough...I would love to skip that step! =)
I loved this post! Being barefoot is always awesome :)
Rugby, in my opinion the best sport in the world!
And now .... I am going to Edinburgh to follow Italy against Scotland (march. 19th).
Johann, reading your Blog is like reading about another planet sometimes. Sooooooo different. That's why I like it! And you!
that is so funny. What are the odds??
