Spring is here, serious running ahead…

Spring is here! Yep, that’s my peach tree and lots of other plants and flowers in my garden are also starting to push out new leaves and flowers.

1 September is officially Spring Day in South Africa. It also means entries for the 2011 Comrades Marathon is open. Well, it’s still a long time from now, but I’m registered!

I’ve got a lot of other important goals before then, but I’m committed to some serious running for many months to come. I like this long term goal thing, it keeps me motivated.

Have a great weekend everyone and good luck with all your running and racing! I’m running a short trail run Saturday (6km) and a slow 15km road race on Sunday. All part of my taper for next week’s 50km mountain race.

How awesome that you have registered for Comrades. I watched it online for the first time this past year, and it was phenomenal. One year I would love to be able to run that race. I am looking forward to watching how your training goes in the year to come.

Congrats on your Compadres registration! Next up for you (and your son) ... a race in San Francisco that has a round-trip across the Golden Gate Bridge!

Welcome spring! Your plants are beautiful. :)

You suggested to visit South Africa. Thanks Johann, it sounds very interesting. I hope to visit that special part of the world one day.

Comrades?! Isn't that the most difficult Marathon on the planet? Now that is one race report I look forward to.

it's funny that you're getting into spring for serious running and I'm getting into fall for some serious running. I'll be so glad when it cools off here.

In case I don't get a chance to talk to you this week. Good luck next week on your 50k.
