Fred Morrison Memorial 15km Race/Club Run - A Photo Report

Yesterday I ran the 15km Fred Morrison memorial race at the Germiston stadium east of Johannesburg. I received a SMS from my club on Friday to inform me that the club planned a club run for this race and everyone will run together at the pace of the slowest runner of our club. I thought “oh great, everyone will be running with me…

In the end there were a few slower than me members around and we ended up having a very pleasant run. I think this was just the right type of run I needed 6 days before my big race.

I’m not writing a report and just post a few photos from the run.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

You are too funny! As a true back of the packer, I must say this idea intrigues me but I simply cannot imagine my entire running group going the pace of the slowest person.

That's a great concept that your club came up with. I'm sure it was fun for everyone.

TEAMWORK!! I love that everyone ran together and no one felt left out. What a great bonding experience and a chance to hang out with great people. :) I love that your TEAM did this.

You've never run a 5k, Johann?! Just 10ks and more?! That's funny. :) I'd like to tell you that you're not missing out -- it's basically a prolonged torture session. However, these cheap little 5ks with no pressure, no medals, & no shirts was kind of fun! Plus, yeah... the ribbon! Ribbons are awesome!

6 more days!
xoxo,
A

That's a great concept, although I'd worry about holding everyone back and would probably end up pushing myself more :)

Great pics!

Thanks fot stopping by my blog Johann! Love a log distance Bloggie:) Chocolate milkshakes...yummy goodness!!
Hey nothing wrong with being a little less fast than the rest..main thing is you keep going! I'm always back of the pack, but find a way to enjoy it and as time goes by the speed will happen for us!

I think a run like this would be awesome [staying together] like twice a year. Great idea actually.

You run soooo many races. Love it. :)
There are some great ones here in AZ!! ;)
