"Drie Dinge Donderdag" is the direct translation to Afrikaans for "Three Things Thursday". So let's have a look at what is what.
Nommer Een (Number One)
I am sick :( I have flu and some chest infection and have not been able to run at all this week. Really frustrating...
Nommer Twee (Number Two)
Can you believe it is almost the middle of the year! The first half of 2014 is done. I honestly can't believe it and it feels as if I haven't done much so far this year.
Nommer Drie (Number Three)
I plan to run a 10km race on 12 July and really hope this flu will allow me to be ready. It's a trail race with a bit of road thrown in and should be perfect to get me focused on my training for the rest of the year.
That is it from me today. Train well my friends!

Bummer about being ill. You are right about the year passing quickly - hard to believe it's July.
Sorry to hear about the flu! Hope you are feeling better soon and can get to your race!
Hope you are feeling better soon!
Ugh, sorry you've been sick, Johann. Don't forget this is your year to have a great one, make that flu go away, stat!!
Good luck with the trail race...a shorter distance will be great after you've been under the weather. Yay, race!!
Hope you feel better! It's so weird to me that you've spent your life completely opposite of mine with winter being in the middle of the year, and summer being at the end. Seems backwards - ha!
Stupid flu!! I hope you're feeling well again soon and back up to strength before that 10k of yours.
Oh man, get better! I hope you can run your race strong and happy.
had a bit of a stomach bug early this week... running was slow and hard, not nice, got better soon!!!
You have time, Johann, and you can be ready on July 12. I hope you will be better soon. Take care!
Thanks for teaching us some Afrikaans! Drie Dinge Donderdag is easily my favourite title of a blog post I've seen for a while!!
Word gou gesond! :)
Yeah, this year flew by.
Hope you're feeling better, Johann. :: hugs ::
