Style to talk about

A lot of style is going around blogland at the moment and I received the Stylish Blogger Award from Kate at What's on my mind today. Thanks Kate!

Well, just to show you how stylish I am, here's a photo taken the day after the Odyssey Ultra last weekend. Ha, did I receive some funny looks as I hobbled around the beach front on Sunday morning! Must be the style! My toes were actually swollen and I'm sure it was due to all the sand as this has never happened before.

So stylish!

Other than the sun tan and the swollen toes I ended up with two black toe nails and one nasty blister. I don't think that is too bad at all.

Now on to 7 random things about me as the Stylish Blogger Award requires:

1.) I don't like the smell of certain fruits and won't even allow them in the house.

2.) I am passionate about my work and think I'm very lucky to be in a job I absolutely love.

3.) I don't like crowds and avoid places with lots of people as far as possible.

4.) I'm a good public speaker and presenter although I'm considered a very quiet person.

5.) I don't get time to do half the things I want to.

6.) I sleep 4.5 to 5 hours per night and even if I try I can't sleep more.

7.) Life is fantastic and every day I make sure I say thanks.

Enjoy a wonderful weekend everyone and don't forget to say thanks!

Wise words, Johann. White feet and brown legs, sure sign of an ultrarunner!

It's a runners tan! Perfectly in fashion. Thanks for reminding me to be grateful today.

Very stylish, indeed! :)

I don't like crowds either. My husband and youngest son are at a big autograph show today for the St. Louis Cardinals. It's huge and packed. Sounds awful to me, but they love it.

which are the fruits that are banned from your house?

Love the tan! I am the same way about crowds, will run away fast from them. Have a good recovery!

I'm curious about which fruits are on the banned list. Also, lovin' the tan!

But fruits are so bengign. The only nasty fruit I know is Durian which is only found in Singapore. 5 hours of sleep. That's crazy. You must be very productive.

High fives to #4, I can't sleep very long either (but I bet I am crankier than you are, ha). If anyone deserves the stylish blogger, it is you in that picture!!! I love to see how long I can go in the spring with a sock tan before it drives me crazy. :)

Happy Weekend, Johann.

I thought you had writen 7 random things about me till i read #4 i'm afraid i'm not a very good public speaker/presenter infront of large crowds. I dunno what fruits you don't like the smell of but for me it's anything that has a strong citris smell (gag gag). As for running 80k on sand in that heat i don't know whether to look for the marbels you must of dropped at the start or just be amazed by the feet lol Hope your legs, feet and toes make a speedy recovery

Hi Johann,
I loved this! It is always so fun to learn more about you. I used to be a great public speaker. The older I get the shyer I have become. I know that sounds wierd...I am fine around people and with intimate conversation. I just have issues with large groups of people:)

Take care!

I am also considered quiet and am NOT a good public speaker although have no problem with students!

That tan is awesome. You are definitely stylish. Life is good. Thanks for the reminder.

very stylish tan! i am with you on crowds and am a quiet person too, but not a good public speaker. too shy! i think we all struggle with #5!

Hey, I recognize that tan line...every time I look at my feet!

I think the crowds/busy places thing must be an ultra runners trait, I'm rarely comfortable with lots of people around, except perhaps at the start of a race!

Wish I could get by on 5hours sleep a night, would leave so much more time to do stuff in the day, which is always too short.

Thanks for sharing, and enjoy the recovery

Impressive tan!

With you on #3 but on #6 I would not make it - 7 is pretty good. Public Speaking is one thing that is a huge phobia for a large majority of the population, in case you didn't know... Have a great week!

You forgot to mention that you are one of the most upbeat bloggers I know! Take care of those black toe nails...

4.5 hours of sleep?!

life is indeed fantastic : )

great tan lines...

Black Knight said...

Yes, you are very stilish!
I would die if I sleep only 4/5 hours per night!

Raina said...

Is it cantaloupe!?!?! I HAVE TO KNOW! lol

So, the sleep thing. We get similar hours, but I'd love to get 8.

You sound like an intense person: Quiet, but a good speaker. Fewer words speak louder sometimes.

thanks!

LOVE this post, J, you are always so optimistic and positive. I'm jealous about your lack of need for sleep. Grrrr, I need at least 8 hours!!
I hope you get the time to do all of those things that you never have time to do. Make them your priority now!
