Spider Run

There I was running happily at 4 AM this morning when I suddenly ran into one of these…

It took me more than 5km to get rid of the web that was covering my head, body and legs to below my knees…wondering the whole time where the spider was…

Well, he was hitching a ride on my shorts! I saw him about 9km after I ran into the web…sitting on my right leg on my shorts. I quickly flicked him off into a bush. I’m not sure exactly what spider it was, but he looked a bit like this…

Bark Spider - Known for large, strong webs.

Happy running!

  7. Maybe you'll wake up and have super powers that allow you to run a 2 hour marathon, or at least climb a tree.

  8. I'm not scared of spiders like I am of snakes but that wouldn't thrill me.

  10. Blech, blech, blech! My skin is crawling right now! I can't stand spiders - it's a completely irrational dislike I know but I can't help it. I like other insects, most are quite interesting & beautiful but spiders freak. me. out. Glad you found that guy & give him the flick!

  11. I was bitten by a spider last year (might have been 2 years ago) and couldn't run for 2 weeks... couldn't really walk for a week!!!

  14. I don't know what's worse, having web on your head or giving a spider a free ride.

  15. Bla!! I don't like the idea of being caught in a web AT ALL. I do like Jill's knitting idea though :)

I had a yellow jacket or bee hit me in the eye today, but it wasn't there long enough to do anything bad. Still, it was startling.
